January 2025 Newsletter
Message from the CEO

Dear SCFHC Community,
Happy New Year! As we step into 2025, I am excited for the opportunities this new year will bring. The beginning of a new year offers a chance to reflect on the progress we’ve made together and set our sights on the important work ahead.
2024 was a year of growth, resilience, and remarkable achievements for South Central Family Health Center. One of the highlights of 2024 was our 21st Annual Toy Giveaway, which brought joy to countless children and families. This cherished tradition embodies the spirit of generosity that defines our organization and reminds us of the importance of building hope and trust in our community.
We also celebrated our incredible team during our Staff Holiday Luncheon, an opportunity to honor their hard work and reflect on the strides we’ve made as an organization. At SCFHC, we recognize that the dedication and passion of our staff are the foundation of our ability to serve our community.
I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to our donors and community supporters. Your generosity fuels our ability to provide vital resources and care to those who need it most. Together, we are making a lasting impact on the health and well-being of families across the region.
As we look ahead to 2025, we are excited to continue working alongside you to create meaningful change, expand access to high-quality care, and strengthen the communities we serve. Thank you for your partnership and trust in SCFHC.
With gratitude,
Genevieve C. Filmardirossian
Chief Executive Officer

21st Annual Toy Giveaway Recap

Recently, SCFHC hosted its 21st annual toy giveaway event, expanding this year with two additional events to reach our Montebello community and another in South LA. With the generous support of our donors and Beach Cities, we were able to serve over 1,000 attendees. Santa made special visits to three SCFHC locations, where kids received toys, enjoyed books, decorated stockings at a crafting station, and refreshed with Starbucks drinks.
This event not only helped strengthen our connection with the communities we serve but also provided an opportunity to educate parents about the importance of routine health visits for both children and adults. SCFHC received a Certificate of Congressional Recognition from Congresswoman Sydney Kamlager-Dove’s office for our ongoing impact and dedication to the community during the holiday season.
